Hand guns may NOT be purchased by non-residents.
North Carolina residents will need to either have a valid North Carolina Concealed Carry, or receive a proceed status from the NICS background check.
Some states reciprocate CCW’s with NC but this is only for carry. Not for Purchase!
Long Gun:
18 Or over
Long guns may be purchased by non-residents as long as your state regulations allow it and you receive a proceed status from the NICS background check. For residents, you will need to either have a valid North Carolina Concealed Carry, or receive a proceed status from the NICS background check.
12/08/22 Enhanced background checks: There will be a ten day waiting period for anyone between the ages of 18-21 when purchasing a long gun.
There are some stipulations for non-residents on short stock or short barrel guns, AR’s AK’s and SKS’s
